Getting started with DCC vol. 3: Installing locomotive decoders

Digital Command Control (DCC) has revolutionized the way we run trains on our model railroads. However, many modelers are intimidated by the task of installing a DCC decoder into a favorite DC locomotive. In this collection, you’ll get three articles on the proper tools required, and tips for choosing and installing a decoder for any project. You’ll also find eight articles that provide examples showing how to install a decoder into a locomotive model, including older Atlas and Athearn diesels, Proto 1000 F units, brass locomotives, and more! If you’re planning on converting one or an entire fleet of engines to DCC, you’ll want to check out Getting started with DCC vol.3. (24 pages, 1.2MB)
