Room-size model railroads vol.4

This article collection includes five track plans and some operating ideas for getting the most out of a modest amount of layout space. You’ll find a freelanced railroad set in the 19th century American West, a multi-level layout inspired by CSX’s Sand Patch route, and a track plan and benchwork plan for a 4 x 13 portable layout. You’ll also get a plan that uses the space around a basement stairway and another that’s set along the Santa Fe main line through a Midwestern flatlands scene. (24 pages, 4.4 MB)

Here are the track plans included in this set:

• Operating variety on a small layout by Hans Renker
• Room-sized model railroads: Mountain by Bob Sprague
• A 4 x 13 layout for home and road by Ken Osborne
• Found layout space by David Popp
